Solar model kits...
Build critical thinking skills
As alternative energy gets more and more popular... you (or your daughter / son) may be getting into a building activity with a science (STEM) project - at some point... School teachers and home school teachers are getting into solar car kits (as well as solar boat and solar bots kits) more than ever.
Is building model kits easy or hard ? Building a solar energy model kit or solar model kit for a is definitely something you need to plan for... more info on kits/resources

Will solar model cars work inside? (w/ lightbulb)
Will solar model kits work indoors with incandescent or halogen lights? If so, what wattage should the lights be? My child is doing a science project for school (model solar car), and we want to use the solar car inside the classroom... has anyone tried this?
thank you for any responses.

what is the best kind of solar phone charger?
Segue to Solar,
Some friends and I are going hiking and I thought I'd take a solar charger to keep my phone batteries charged up. What kind of solar charge would be best to use?
there is the kind that has a battery connected to it, or, you can get the type with just a solar panel. The "plain type" (like photo below), just a solar panel. It only works during the day. You don't need to worry about a battery when the panel is in storage.
The other type, a solar charger with battery on the back is also pictured The charger may be a little heavier to some, but it will charge things into the night - with the battery all charged up of course. (You can charge the panel through a USB cord... and wall plug or car).
Also, and some people might think of this as a drawback - particularly in the snow states - you need to keep the battery charged up periodically when you are not using the panel (in storage, etc.).
Hikers, campers, solar charger users, Which type do you like?

How do I store a solar light?
Dear segue to solar.com:
My question is how do we store a solar light? I have a utility light on my sailboat hatch that charges a small solar panel on the top. The rechargeable battery inside the light is charged up by the sun as well. Now, as winter approaches I want to store the boat for until good weather comes again, and then use the light again -
Will this light work automatically, come next spring-summer?
